'True' QB General Efficiency
'True' QB General Efficiency is a part of Suited Football's 'True' QB stats. This section aims to measure a quarterback's actual efficiency on a week-to-week basis by noting what their decisions and ball placement should have led to, accurately accessing a quarterback's true performance.
-
Passing downs only; passes + scrambles.
-
Designed QB runs, screens, throwaways, settling on 3rd and long all excluded
-
Third downs tallied by accumulated first downs (4th down conversion counts as 3rd down ONLY under 2 conditions: QB's play [should've] gained positive yardage on 3rd, or running down on 3rd) - 3rd and 15+ marked in (X/X) following 3rd and 14- outside of parenthesis; combine both for total 3rd downs of all distances.
-
Clutch window = 4th quarter while: Up one possession, down two or less possessions, or game is tied.
-
Broken down play defined by QB being flushed out from pressure, resulting in QB clearly changing their plan (getting back to LOS/gaining positive yardage but still behind schedule negate all applicable negative tallies)
-
Redzone, 2 minute drill, clutch, broken plays, out of pocket, and play action success defined by [should've been] result keeping on schedule vs not on schedule, NOT [should've been] completion vs incompletion
-
Penalty negates all results, EXCEPT roughing passer
What are 'True' QB stats?
'True' QB Stats/efficiency is a stat-line designed by Suited Football to put a quarterback in a box, tallying what should've happened based on the quarterback's decision making and ball placement instead of what actually happened - eliminating devastating drops, among other things - to show how efficient each quarterback actually performed each week.
